We always say that life is fragile. We witness the natural disasters and see how they can take away lives and say that life is unpredictable. But do we mean what we say?

Terri Schiavo's life was fragile but she was handling it with care. She was fighting for her life. Even if people question the liability of her sub-conscious willpower, her family are still holding on so her fragile life was still in good hands. And if life is truly unpredictable, then it means that a miracle might happen right? Her family has never stopped hoping for that unpredictable moment.

Then why did the American Congress barge in and deem her as a "vegetable" even when the doctors did not label her as one? And how come treatment like starvation and dehydration to a perfectly guiltless citizen can be considered "legal" and was actually passed by the court?

In my opinion, the only scenario when someone has control over another life is when the latter owes his life to the former. Or capital punishment, when a guilty person is convicted and sentenced to death because he deserves it.

Yes, I've realized how fragile life is. My life is not just in the hands of God and myself.
